Frequently asked questions.

Separate paths, by design.

Your deposit is accepted for the order, while the payout is released separately from our reserve. Incoming client coins are never forwarded directly to the recipient address, so the deposit and payout do not form a direct on-chain bridge.

What to know before exchanging

The current direction, limits, fee and estimated time shown in the exchange form are authoritative for your order.

What are the exchange steps?

Choose a direction, enter the recipient address and press Continue — the order page opens at once with your deposit address and the accepted amount range; the amount field is only an estimate helper. Send one transaction of any amount inside the range, keep the order page open, and wait while it tracks detection, confirmations and payout. Same-asset mixer orders (BTC → BTC, ETH → ETH, USDT → USDT) and Zcash deposits work on a fixed amount instead: you enter it up front and the terms lock when the order is created.

How long does an exchange take?

First, the deposit must reach the required depth on its send network: 2 confirmations for Bitcoin and Litecoin, 1 for TRON, Solana and Solana tokens, 6 for Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens, 15 for BSC, 10 for Monero, and 4 for shielded Zcash. The order then proceeds to payout. The full exchange usually takes 1–90 minutes depending on the network and current payout volume. Each direction has its own current time reference shown in the exchange form.

How long is the deposit address valid?

A deposit address lives for 2 hours on a floating-rate order and on a same-asset mixer order, and for 15 minutes on a fixed-quote order (a rate locked before you confirm, e.g. a Zcash deposit); a Zcash quote is open for review for 10 minutes before the order is created. Your payment only needs to become visible on the network before that deadline — it may reach its confirmations later. Once detected, the countdown no longer applies and the order waits for confirmations and payout. A transfer that becomes visible only after the deadline is not exchanged on the terms you booked: if the order had received nothing before, it reopens on its own once the transfer is detected and the rate is then taken from the live market at the required confirmations. Do not send again; if nothing changes within an hour, contact support with the order ID.

When are the rate and amounts final?

On a cross-asset order the rate floats until your deposit is confirmed: the order page shows the live rate, and the final rate and receive amount are taken from the market at the moment the deposit reaches the required confirmations, with the service fee shown at booking applied to the amount actually received. Nobody — including us — can pick a different moment. Mixer and Zcash orders lock their rate and amounts when the order is created; on a fixed cross-asset order a market move greater than 1% before your payment is detected may require a refund or your approval of current terms. We never silently substitute a worse rate.

What fees and limits apply?

Each direction has its own service fee, minimum and maximum, shown in the exchange form and repeated on the order page as the accepted range. The service fee is already reflected in the rate you see, so there is no separate line at payout. On a floating-rate order any amount inside the range is exchanged as is; below the minimum the order waits for a top-up, above the maximum the amount up to the maximum is exchanged and the surplus is resolved with you through support. Where applicable, payout delivery network costs are accounted for in the displayed terms. Always rely on the order page rather than a chart or an earlier estimate.

Why does the final rate differ from a CoinGecko or Kraken cross-rate?

A public cross-rate is an indicative mid-market reference, not a price at which a trade of your size is guaranteed to execute. It excludes bid-ask spread, price movement during execution, network and venue fees, slippage and rounding. Your order rate is an executable quote for one amount and route, so compare the final receive amount rather than a raw mid-price.

Do you require KYC or run AML screening?

No. Under our KYC-never policy, we do not request identity documents, selfies or biometrics, proof of address, or source-of-funds or source-of-wealth evidence. We do not conduct AML screening or use blockchain analytics or transaction-surveillance tools. You remain responsible for ensuring that your activity and source of funds are lawful in your jurisdiction.

Do I need an account, email or a public order link?

No account or email is required. The browser that creates a guest order receives private access automatically, and new order links do not contain the recipient address. To open the order from another browser, use its order ID and the exact recipient address. Keep both until the exchange is complete.

What is SimpleX, and when should I use it?

SimpleX is the private operator-assisted route. A one-time invitation opens an end-to-end encrypted chat where you agree the pair, amount, recipient and refund details without completing the exchange form on the site. Before payment, you receive a signed Letter of Guarantee containing the authoritative terms. The standard web exchange remains the faster self-service option.

Why is your Tor version so minimal?

It is not a copy of the regular site but a separate text-only onion terminal: no JavaScript, images, external resources, cookies or account. It keeps working across Tor circuit or identity changes; access stays with the private order URL you save. Quotes, orders, signed guarantees and a support mailbox still work, while the isolated design reduces fingerprinting, data exposure and attack surface.

How do I pay safely?

Check the asset, network, full recipient address, the accepted amount range (or the exact amount on a fixed order) and the deadline before sending. Pay only the deposit address shown on the live order page, in one transaction. Every order includes a Bitcoin-signed Letter of Guarantee; verify its signature before payment if you want an independent record of the terms.

What if I pay late, send a different amount or use the wrong network?

Do not pay an expired or cancelled order. On a floating-rate order any amount inside the accepted range is simply exchanged, so only a transfer below the minimum, above the maximum, after the deadline or on the wrong network needs attention: keep the order page and contact support from the site. Do not make another transfer unless the order page explicitly offers a top-up or support confirms the next step.

What is the Letter of Guarantee, and why should I check it myself?

It is the Bitcoin-signed record of your order's terms, available from the moment the order exists, and it is the main guarantee behind your order. On a floating-rate order it first records the pricing contract — accepted range, service fee, deposit address, recipient and the confirmation depth at which the rate locks — and once the rate is locked it also carries the locked rate, amounts and lock time. You can verify its signature yourself with the public verifier linked from the order page and from the Letter of Guarantee page, independent of our own interface — we recommend doing this before you pay and keeping a copy of each version.

What if I send to the wrong address or the wrong network?

That is a mistake on the sending side, and we cannot guarantee that a refund will be possible — recovery can be technically impossible or depend on a third party outside our control. Always match the asset, network, address and memo shown on the live order page. If a refund does turn out to be possible, the network fee for sending it is deducted from the refunded amount. This is different from a short or late deposit of the correct asset to the order's own address, which is always settled — see the question on underpaid transfers.

How do you resolve an underpaid or overpaid transfer if I don't respond?

On a floating-rate order an amount inside the accepted range is neither an underpayment nor an overpayment — it is exchanged as is. Below the minimum the order waits for a top-up; above the maximum the amount up to the maximum is exchanged and only the surplus needs resolving. In those cases, and on fixed-amount orders, we hold the order and wait for you to reach support. Without a timely response by the time the order would execute or reach its required confirmations, we may resolve it ourselves under our published policy: normally a proportional recalculation of the payout at the order's rate for an underpayment, or the equivalent treatment for a surplus. A deposit that stays below the minimum for its direction is not forfeited. It is settled in one of three ways: you top it up while the order waits (it does not expire while short); we refund it to an address you confirm — the optional refund address from your order, or one agreed through support — with the network fee deducted; or, as a manual exception at the operator's discretion, we exchange the amount actually received at the rate current when that decision is made. That exception is not promised and does not change the published minimums: nothing below the minimum is exchanged automatically. If we cannot complete an exchange you paid correctly, the deposit is not kept either — you choose between completing on terms agreed with support and a refund on the same conditions. A surplus worth less than the equivalent of USD 1 at the order's rate — typically a stray transaction reaching the deposit address after the rate lock — is not paid out or refunded separately, because a network transfer would cost more than the amount itself; it stays with betKarma.

Can a payout take longer than shown, and where does it come from?

Normally no — expect the time reference shown in the exchange form once your deposit reaches its required confirmations. In exceptional situations, such as a queue of pending payouts, it can take longer, but never more than 3 hours past that reference. For assets without built-in privacy, the payout may pass through a centralized or decentralized exchange, but it always comes from our internal reserve rather than a direct forward of your own deposit, and it may occasionally arrive as more than one transaction — the total always matches what you're owed.

How do I track or remove an order?

Keep the private order page open or use Track order with the order ID and recipient address. It updates through deposit detection, confirmations and payout. After an order is complete or expired, you can remove it from your public history on that page. The page then becomes unavailable; only the minimum service data required for internal records is retained.
